Selected building owners in Columbia City’s historic downtown district open their doors to the public, providing an exciting opportunity to get an up-close look at both beautifully restored and potential-filled structures that are central to our city’s charm. The tour is self-guided, so participants can explore the featured historic buildings at their own pace and in any order they prefer. Knowledgeable building owners and hosts are available to answer questions about restoration efforts, the challenges of maintaining historic buildings, and the reasons they chose Columbia City as the home for their businesses.
In addition to privately-owned buildings, tour participants also have the chance to visit other notable historic sites, including the Thomas Marshall House Museum, the Whitley County Courthouse, and the Historic Jail.
