Columbia City Connect’s new official Digital Historic Walking Tour is available using the Locable app.

The app connects nine (9) of Columbia City’s significant historical buildings and places. The innovative offering highlights the stories of the people who helped shape Columbia City and makes any visit to and walk-in downtown fun and educational. Through a grant from Indiana Landmarks and Indiana Humanities, Columbia City Connect has partnered with the Whitley County Historical Museum and WJHS The Eagle to create this historic downtown experience.  

Signature events such as the shootout in downtown and Thomas Marshall’s speech from the Clugston portico are featured as well as other historic events and over 100 years of history. The app guides users on the tour with automatic audio at stops with GPS mapping as well as an interactive map that helps find stops with ease.  Additionally, photos, images and text for all stops invite people to experience the tour and historic sites featured on the app. 

Each stop is approximately 3-5 minutes long.  The entire tour can be completed in about 45 minutes.
