Peabody Public Library invites families of all sizes to come to a charming Family Movie Night, featuring the animated film adaptation of their current Family Book Club selection, “The Tale of Despereaux.” This special event will take place on Wednesday, February 26th at 6 pm in the Youth Services area.
“The Tale of Despereaux,” based on the beloved novel by Kate DiCamillo, is an inspiring story of bravery, friendship, and forgiveness, capturing the hearts of readers and viewers alike. The film follows the adventures of Despereaux Tilling, a brave little mouse with big dreams, as he embarks on a quest to rescue a human princess and bring hope back to the kingdom of Dor.

- Additional Information: Popcorn and drinks will be provided. Families are encouraged to bring their own blankets & pillows to get comfy! The Spring title for the Family Book Club will also be announced that night.
“Our Family Movie Night is a wonderful way to unite the community and celebrate the joy of storytelling,” said Kelsey Fickinger, the Youth Services Librarian at PPL. “We’re excited to offer a cozy and fun evening for families to enjoy the film that complements our book club’s reading selection for this winter season.”
The Family Book Club aims to foster a love of reading across generations, encouraging families to read and discuss books together. This movie night provides a perfect opportunity to see the story come to life on the big screen and engage in meaningful conversations about its themes.
