Santa’s Mailbox has officially landed on the front porch of the Whitley County Historical Museum, located at 108 West Jefferson Street in Columbia City.
Between now and December 17, 2024, children are encouraged to write letters to Santa and hand deliver them to the beautiful mailbox now awaiting special correspondence on the front porch of the Whitley County Historical Museum. Please include a return address and Santa will respond with a personalized message and a few small surprises.
“Our annual Letters to Santa program adds a bit of excitement and holiday cheer for the children in our community,” said Rachael Hartman, curator of the Whitley County Historical Museum. “The joy it brings to a child to receive a personal answer from Santa in their own mail keeps the spirit of Christmas alive and well. This is something we truly look forward to doing each year.”
Children may also visit the museum to write their letter in person the evening of Friday, December 6, 2024, from 3 to 8 p.m. during the museum’s Merry Museum Christmas. Additionally, visitors can expect holiday crafting opportunities, storytelling, treats, music, festive décor, photo opportunities, an arts marketplace and more.
“The Merry Museum Christmas is certainly not to be missed,” Hartman added regarding the well-attended annual event.
